On Sunday, May 15th the Crossview Church family will worship the Lord through service to our community and neighbors by engaging in various "GO" projects. You and your family are invited to join us for this special morning of community outreach, service & fun! Event details are listed below and event questions can be directed to Pastor Neal. We can't wait for you and your family to ENGAGE with us!

Event Schedule

10:00am-10:30am

Gather at Crossview Church for prayer, baptisms, and instructions.

10:30am-12:30pm

Engage our community & neighbors through service "GO" projects.

12:30pm-2:30pm

Gather at Jack R. Harris Park (Grabill) for picnic lunch and fellowship.

   *Hamburgers, hot dogs & drinks provided.

   *Families should bring sides and/or dessert items to share.

Jack R. Harris Park Projects

Project #1 – Pavement Clean Up & Edging 
Volunteers Needed: 6 to 8

• Project Details: Help clean up the edges of the pavement, basketball courts, and parking lot by edging and removing weeds from the property.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Weed whackers, edgers, blowers, brooms, gloves, safety glasses, shovels, rakes, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: No

 

Project #2 – Park Bench Repair & Restore 
Volunteers Needed: 2 to 3

• Project Details: Help repair and restore a weathered park bench.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Paint brushes, paint, gloves, wrenches, sandpaper/sander, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: Yes


Project #3 – BBQ Grill Removal 
Volunteers Needed: 4

• Project Details: Dig up and remove (2) old charcoal bbq grills.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Shovels, sledge hammers, gloves, safety goggles, grinder/metal post cutter, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: No


Project #4 – Broken Post Removal 
Volunteers Needed: 4 to 5

• Project Details: Dig up and remove broken wooden posts that are safety and trip hazards to park guests.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Shovels, sledge hammers, gloves, safety goggles, wood saw, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: No

 

Project #5 – Picnic Table Repair, Restore & Refinishing - Project Closed
Volunteers Needed: 6 to 10

• Project Details: Paint, repair & restore wooden picnic tables under mini pavilions. Paint and install new tables as needed.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Lumber, screws, construction hand tools, gloves, safety goggles, paint, paint brushes, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: Yes

 

Project #6 – Basketball Goal Repair & Restore - Project Closed
Volunteers Needed: 9 to 12

• Project Details: Replace worn & broken backboards, rims & nets on current posts. Sand and repaint posts.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Hand tools, paint brushes, wire brushes/sanding tools, ladders, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: Yes

Project #1 – Fire Hydrant Painting

• Project Details: Help repaint and refinish fire hydrants around town.

Project #2 – Single Mom Property Cleanup - PROJECT FULL

Volunteers Needed: 2 to 4

• Project Details: Help remove a dead tree from the property by splitting and hauling wood. Other misc. yard maintenance items.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Chainsaw, gloves, safety goggles, wood splitter, truck, etc. Other yard maintenance tools for misc. projects (rakes, weedwhacker, etc.)
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: No

 

Project #3 – Trash Pickup (Grabill Road, Page Road, Witmer Road)

• Project Details: Remove trash and debris from along Grabill Road, Page Road & Witmer Road.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Gloves, trash bags, safety vests, trash stakes/grabbers, truck for hauling debris, etc.

Project #4 – Grabill Free Healthcare Clinic

Volunteers Needed: 2-6

• Project Details: Gutter clean out, window cleaning, light pressure washing (door and siding wipe down), weeding, debris removal, sweeping/parking space clean up, minor sign repair.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Rags, buckets, window cleaner, brooms, shovels, ladders, trash bags, pressure washer, gloves, weed whacker, cordless screwdriver, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: No

 

Project #5 – Cedars Retirement Community Encouragement Packs - PROJECT FULL

• Project Details: Pack encouragement gift boxes filled with candy, treats, goodies,
and hand-written cards of love and encouragement to be delivered to residents
at Gateway Woods’ WillowBridge transitional housing complex.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: All supplies will be provided to volunteers. Donations
for this project are greatly appreciated and will be used to help offset the cost of
purchased encouragement pack items. Checks can be made payable to

Redemption House Projects

• Project Details: Paint a newly installed fence on the property.

Volunteers Needed: 4 to 6

• Project Details: Repaint and refinish deck on the back of the Redemption House.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Paint brushes, paint buckets, rollers, roller pans, rags, scrapers, etc.

Project #4 – Landscaping Clean Up (Weeding, Edging, Debris Removal) - PROJECT FULL 
Volunteers Needed: 3 to 5

• Project Details: Help clean and spruce up backyard, flower beds and outdoor common areas.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: Gloves, rakes, weed whackers, edgers, shovels, garden hoes, etc.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: Yes

 

Project #5 – Floodlight Install & Gutter Repair

• Project Details: Help install a new floodlight for the back of the property, repair gutter on garage.

Project #6 – Donation Sorting, Inventory Organization - Project Closed

• Project Details: Help sort and organize clothing items and other donations that can be utilized for incoming residents.

Grabill Food Bank

Project #1 – Shop, Sort & Organize Donations - PROJECT FULL 
Volunteers Needed: 3 to 5

• Project Details: Sort and organize donations that will be delivered to the Grabill Food Bank. Shop for low inventory items and prepare boxes to be taken to the food bank on Tuesday after Engage Sunday.
• Tools & Supplies Needed: All supplies will be provided to volunteers. Donations for this project are greatly appreciated and will be used to help offset the cost of church purchased food bank items. Checks can be made payable to Crossview Church with Engage Sunday listed in the memo line.
• Family/Kid Friendly Project: Yes
